This event is new and it’s replacing our “A Million Dreams Gala.” Why? It’s important to KrabbeConnect to move things around the country giving other families the opportunity to witness the generosity of the community and to attend these special events.
Welcome to the Ten Candles, Endless Hope event page, dedicated to Tori’s Birthday Benefit in support of the #curekrabbe campaign. Join us in honoring what would have been Tori’s 10th birthday on July 30th. This event will recognize the Brackbill family’s daughter, Tori, and all the heroes who are a part of the ongoing fight against Krabbe disease.
Sponsorships Available!
About Tori
Tori was a ray of sunshine being the first-born child of Brennan and Lesa Brackbill. On February 13, 2015, Tori was diagnosed with Krabbe disease; that same day, Brennan and Lesa learned that if Pennsylvania had screened for Krabbe disease, Tori would have been eligible for treatment. This led to a five-year effort to improve the Newborn Screening program in Pennsylvania; the Brackbills saw success in November 2020 when their bill was signed into law. Because of their advocacy, the Newborn Screening Advisory Board chose to add Krabbe disease to Pennsylvania’s panel, and five babies have been identified with Krabbe disease since it began.
This is Tori’s legacy, and her story continues to touch many lives. To celebrate what would have been her tenth birthday, the Brackbills are hosting this event to raise awareness and funds to continue to help #curekrabbe.
