As the holiday season approaches, we understand that it can be a time of both joy and challenge for families affected by Krabbe disease. We believe in the power of community, support, and sharing love during this special time.

We are excited for the 5th year of the “Krabbe Family Holiday Grant Program,” an initiative designed to provide financial assistance to families navigating the challenges and financial burdens of Krabbe disease during the holiday season.

Program Highlights

We are offering grants to help ease the financial burden of the holidays. These grants can be used for holiday-related expenses, such as gifts, decorations, travel, or special meals.

Program Requirements

You currently care for an individual with Krabbe disease
Your loved one lost their battle with Krabbe disease in 2026
Provide proof of Krabbe disease diagnosis unless your loved one is on the KrabbeConnect Heroes page
You and your loved one with Krabbe disease live in the United States
Complete the application by Friday, November 27, 2026

I (the undersigned individual) hereby grant full permission to KrabbeConnect and its employees, legal representatives, agents, representatives, successors, assignees and assigns (collectively, the “Authorized Parties”) to take my or my minor child(ren)’s photograph, videoclip or sound recording and to use or reproduce such items, as well as my or my minor child’s name and any other information provided by me about me or my minor child(ren) (collectively referred to as the “Materials”) for any purpose in the Authorized Parties’ sole and exclusive discretion. I represent that I am 18 years of age or older. I understand that the Authorized Parties may adapt, modify, reproduce, distribute, publish, display and create derivative works of the Materials and that the Authorized Parties have no obligation to compensate me in any way for any use of the Materials. New Sponsorship Opportunity

Since 2021, KrabbeConnect has funded this program without outside contributions. What began with 7 family applications has now grown to more than 15 families seeking assistance each year. As the need grows, we are looking for partners to help us continue saying yes to every family who turns to us.

One family recently shared:

“We have been trying for more than a year and a half to get our child approved for Medicaid, but despite doing everything we can, he has been denied 3 times. In the meantime, we are paying out of pocket for hospice care, along with insurance deductibles and ongoing medical expenses. I have also had to step back from my job and reduce my work so I can spend as much time with him as possible. The financial impact has been significant, but right now, being there for our child is what matters most.”
